Where Brazil is Located

Brazil is the largest country in South America, occupying the eastern half of the continent. It borders every South American country except Chile and Ecuador, with coastlines along the Atlantic Ocean to the east. The Amazon rainforest, the Brazilian Highlands, and major cities like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo define its geography.

Landscape of Brazil

Brazil's enormous territory contains nearly every tropical landscape imaginable - from the world's largest rainforest (the Amazon) covering 60% of the country to the vast Pantanal wetlands in the west, the world's largest tropical wetland area. The Brazilian Highlands dominate central and southeastern regions with rolling hills, dramatic escarpments like the Serra do Mar coastal range, and unique ecosystems such as the cerrado savannas. The northeast features the arid sertão hinterland and stunning coastal dunes, while the south contains subtropical forests and the impressive Iguaçu Falls on the Argentine border.

Climate of Brazil

Brazil has a diverse climate due to its size, with tropical weather dominating most of the country, particularly in the Amazon basin. The northeast experiences a semi-arid climate, while the south has a subtropical climate. The central region sees a distinct wet and dry season, with the wet season typically from October to March and the dry season from April to September. Temperatures remain warm year-round.
