Where Panama is Located
Panama is in Central America, bordered by Costa Rica to the west, Colombia to the southeast, the Caribbean Sea to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the south. It is famous for the Panama Canal, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The country features tropical rainforests, mountain ranges, and the San Blas Islands.

Panama’s isthmus connects the Americas, with the Darién Gap’s rainforests (UNESCO) forming a biodiverse buffer to Colombia. The Cordillera Central’s cloud forests, including Volcán Barú (3,475m), overlook coffee plantations and the Chiriquí Highlands’ quetzal habitats. The Panama Canal cuts through Gatún Lake, a man-made reservoir flanked by tropical rainforests. The San Blas Islands’ coral atolls and the Coiba National Park’s marine reserves (UNESCO) protect Pacific mangroves and whale sharks.
Climate of panama
Panama has a tropical climate, with a wet season from May to November and a dry season from December to April. The weather is hot and humid year-round, with temperatures averaging around 27°C (81°F). Coastal regions and the interior experience similar conditions, with the Pacific side experiencing slightly less rainfall than the Caribbean side. The country is known for its lush rainforests and vibrant biodiversity.
